Here are a few tips for adding your images to MadeMusic.com
and making them look good.
All MadeMusic.com covers are 600w X 800h pixels.
All uploaded background images are resized proportionately
(NOT Stretched) to fill the whole space of the cover. The
closer your image is to 600w X 800h pixels the better it will
look because less resizing has to be done to make the picture
fit into the cover.
For best results your uploaded image should
be:
600w X 800h Pixels
RGB Color mode (NOT CMYK)
.JPG format (not .gif)
Saved as 72dpi

Example 1 (Left) &
Example 2 (right) - How the uploaded
image is resized
Lets say your original photo is 600wide X 400high pixels. Example
1 (above left) shows how that picture size looks compared to the actual
cover size. Example 2 (above right) shows how the picture is resized
to fit into the cover proportionately. As you can see in Example 2,
both of the sides of the image will be cut off when uploaded so keep
this in mind when adding your background images.

Example 3 - This is the finished look of your uploaded
image.
Another aspect to keep in mind when uploading images is position.
As you can see, there is a lot of text on the magazine
cover; therefore, you want to make sure that the key parts
of your image aren't covered by the text .For example, you
don't want your face covered by the MadeMusic.com logo. A
good rule of thumb here is to make sure the key elements of
your image that you want to "stand out" are toward
the center of the picture. View example 4 below to get an
idea of the ideal positioning. If you are trying to capture
eyes, face, guitar amp, etc. try to keep those things around
in the area circled in red below.
Example 4 - The ideal positioning of key elements
in an image.
